- Who publishes Ke-Bet
Ke-Bet is a guide to the betting sites that Kenyans can open on a phone. It is written to save you time, not to make a decision for you. Below, topic by topic, is how far each kind of information here deserves your trust. Every section opens with a one-line answer and then gives the detail.
We are a guide, not a bookmaker
In short: nothing is staked, deposited or paid out on ke-bet.com.
We do not take bets, hold shillings, run a wallet or settle markets. Signing up with a sportsbook creates a contract between you and that bookmaker alone, governed by its own rulebook and by the licence it really holds. Ke-Bet is not a party to that agreement and cannot change, enforce or cancel any part of it. If an operator closes your account, voids a bet or delays a withdrawal, the remedy lies with the operator and, failing that, the regulator that issued its licence.
Licences can change after we check them
In short: confirm the licence yourself on the day you deposit.
Every review states whether a brand holds a Kenyan licence from the Gambling Regulatory Authority or only an offshore one, and where we read that. Licences are suspended, renewed under new names and transferred between companies. Some Kenyan paperwork still carries the wording of the old Betting Control and Licensing Board, which is normal during the handover period but makes it easy to misread a document. A licence that was valid when we wrote the page may not be valid when you read it. The regulator's own register is the only source that settles the question.
Bonus figures belong to the operator
In short: the operator's terms page wins every disagreement with ours.
We quote welcome offers, free bets and rollover multiples from the operator's published terms, together with the deadline and the minimum odds where the operator states them. Operators rewrite these clauses often, sometimes weekly, and may restrict an offer to new customers, to one account per phone number, to verified accounts or to deposits made through a particular rail. We cannot promise that any offer will be granted to you, that it will still exist tomorrow, or that the figure on our page has not changed since the date shown at the top.
Payment limits and payout times
In short: cashier figures are snapshots, not guarantees.
Minimum deposits, M-Pesa paybill numbers, Airtel Money limits, PesaLink transfers and withdrawal windows are copied from the operator's cashier and payment pages. Mobile-money networks have their own transaction ceilings and fees, banks apply their own checks, and an operator may hold a first withdrawal until your identity is verified. Excise duty on stakes and withholding tax on winnings are deducted under Kenyan law; the amounts depend on the rate in force and on how the operator applies it. For your own tax position, ask a qualified adviser, not a betting guide.
Odds, tips and match previews
In short: no tip on this site is a forecast you can bank on.
Prices shift between our writing a line and your opening the betslip. Any price quoted in an article is there to explain a market, a bet type or a calculation. Previews and opinions about a fixture are the view of the writer; injuries, line-ups, weather and plain luck decide the result. A staking plan described in a guide can help you control what you spend, but no system removes the bookmaker's margin.
Rankings and the number next to a brand
In short: read the row, not the position.
Our shortlists are filtered by checks that anyone can repeat, and the order within a shortlist is affected by our commercial agreements, as explained on How We Rate. The figure out of ten marks a position in that particular table; it is not a test result or an endorsement of the operator as a company. Two pages can rank the same brand differently because they answer different questions.
Older articles and news
In short: a news story is true for the date it carries.
The blog keeps articles about sponsorship deals, regulation, tax changes and new products in the Kenyan market. We do not rewrite old stories when the facts move on. Figures, rules and brand names inside an older article may have changed, and some operators mentioned in them no longer serve Kenya.
Pages that are not ours
In short: once you leave ke-bet.com, other rules apply.
Links take you to operators, payment providers, regulators, sports bodies and news outlets. Their content, security, privacy practices and availability are their own responsibility. A link from us is not a statement that a third-party page is accurate or safe for every reader in every country.
Brand names and logos
In short: logos are shown to identify, not to suggest approval.
Sportsbook names, logos, app icons and payment-network marks remain with the firms that own and registered them. We show them only so that a reader can tell at a glance which brand a page covers. Screenshots freeze a product on the day of capture and may no longer match the live app.
If the site is down or a page moves
In short: we try to stay online, without promising to.
Maintenance, hosting faults or network problems can make the site or a single page unavailable for a while. Pages can be merged, renamed or withdrawn without notice when the market changes or a brand leaves Kenya.
When we get something wrong
In short: tell us the page and the figure, and we will re-check it.
A wrong licence status, a dead link or an expired offer is worth reporting. Send [email protected] the link, the figure that looks wrong and a quote or screenshot from the bookmaker's own site. If the report holds up, the page is corrected and its date changes. We do not move a brand up or down a list in exchange for a correction.
Age and risk
In short: betting is for adults, and losing is the expected outcome over time.
The pages about betting with real money are written for readers aged 18 and over who are physically in Kenya. Decide a budget before you open an account, switch on the deposit caps and cooling-off periods your bookmaker offers, and stop when it stops being entertainment. Practical steps and the places to ask for help are on our Responsible Gambling page.
Our liability
In short: we are not responsible for betting losses or for what operators do.
To the extent permitted by the law that applies, Catalinth Media Limited accepts no liability for money lost through betting, for lost profits, for indirect or consequential loss, or for any bet placed because of something you read here. Any liability that Kenyan or Gibraltar law treats as non-excludable stays fully in place.
