Ke-Bet is free to read because some of the bookmakers we write about pay us when a reader signs up with them through our links. This page explains how that arrangement works, where those links appear and what we keep out of its reach. It sits alongside our Disclaimer, which covers how far each kind of information here can be relied on, and our Privacy Policy, which covers what happens to data when you click.

How the commission works

Catalinth Media Limited, the company that publishes Ke-Bet, has affiliate agreements with some of the sportsbooks licensed to take bets from Kenyans. When a punter follows one of our links, opens an account and starts betting with real shillings, the bookmaker may pay the publisher a fee.

The terms differ from one operator to the next. Some pay a single amount for each new customer who makes a first deposit. Others share a percentage of the revenue that customer generates over the following months. A few combine both. We do not receive anything for a click on its own, and we never handle your money: deposits, stakes and withdrawals go between you and the bookmaker only.

You do not pay more

The fee comes out of the operator's marketing budget. It is not added to your deposit, deducted from your winnings or reflected in the odds you get. A welcome offer reached through Ke-Bet carries the same rollover, minimum deposit and expiry as the one you would find by typing the bookmaker's address yourself. If a code is needed, we print it; if no code is needed, we say so.

Every link that can earn us money passes through an address that starts with /go/, and carries rel="sponsored" in the page code. You will find them in these places:

  • the “Top bonuses in Kenya” box in the side column;
  • the bet buttons in shortlists and comparison tables on the home page and on the betting sites pages;
  • the buttons inside each bookmaker review;
  • now and then, a blog post that names a partner.

Links to the Gambling Regulatory Authority, Safaricom, Airtel, help lines, sports bodies or news sites are ordinary references and pay nothing. If you prefer not to use an affiliate link, type the operator's address into your browser instead; the information on our page stays just as valid.

Partners in rankings and featured spots

We are open about the part money does play. A commercial agreement can decide whether a brand appears in the side box and how high it sits within a shortlist. It cannot buy a place on a list that a brand fails to qualify for: shortlists are first filtered by checks anyone can repeat, such as the licence, the smallest accepted deposit, the mobile-money cashier and payout speed. The score out of ten next to a brand marks its place in that table, as the Disclaimer explains, and is not a verdict on the company.

What stays independent

Facts are copied from the operator or the regulator whether the brand is a partner or not. That covers licence status, wagering multiples, deposit and withdrawal limits, fees and payout windows. A partner that hides a restrictive clause gets that clause quoted, and a partner whose licence lapses loses its commercial link. The full set of checks, and who does them, is described on How We Rate.

Your part

Bookmakers change their offers without telling us first. Before you deposit, read the current terms on the operator's own site, confirm its licence in the regulator's register and decide on a limit you can afford to lose. Betting is for adults aged 18 and over. Tools and places to ask for help are on our Responsible Gambling page.

Changes to this page

When a partnership starts or ends, the links and boxes on the site change with it, and this page is updated if the way we are paid changes. The date at the top shows the last revision.

Questions

If a link looks wrong, a partner is not marked, or you think money has bent a ranking, write to [email protected]. Ke-Bet is published by Catalinth Media Limited, Watergardens, Waterport, Gibraltar GX11 1AA. More about the team is on About Us.

Betting should stay a game

Ke-Bet is an independent Kenyan betting guide. We are not a bookmaker and we take no bets. Every operator on this site is checked for three things: whether it holds a Kenyan licence or only an offshore one, whether it keeps balances in shillings and pays out through M-Pesa, Airtel Money, PesaLink or a Kenyan bank, and whether the bonus it advertises has terms a player can actually read. Links to operators are commercial: a partnership can affect where a brand sits in a list, never the licence, bonus terms or limits we quote, and where a brand has no verified bonus figure we leave the row out rather than invent one. Odds, bonus figures and limits change — read the operator's own terms before you stake.

Betting in Kenya is licensed by the Gambling Regulatory Authority, created by the Gambling Control Act 2025 and in force since 26 August 2025. The GRA took over from the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB), and the handover finished in February 2026 — licences issued under the old board still carry the BCLB wording. Stakes carry excise duty and winnings carry withholding tax, which the operator deducts before it pays you.
